Michael Sloan (born October 14, 1946) is an American screenwriter and producer known as creator of the popular Television series The Master and The Equalizer. Sloan adapted the screenplay of Star Fleet for English audiences.

Louis Elman and his crew were originally sent an overly literal cut and paste translation of the series from Jin Productions, so Elman sought Sloan's writing skills to adapt the script for English screens. Sloan is the one who incorporated terms such as parsecs, militons and quantum speed into the script.

Michael Sloan has enjoyed a long career in Television, working as a writer for shows such as Battlestar Galactica, McCloud and The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. He would go on to create the successful Television series The Master and The Equalizer, (with Richard Lindheim) the latter of which would be adapted into the 2014 film of the same name.

He has also appeared as an actor on occasion such as in Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Persuaders! and Baffled!.

Sloan has been married to actress Melissa Sue Anderson since March 1990.
